The construction of statistics discipline in Chang'an University started in 1990 and has gone through more than 20 years. In 2011, our university obtained the right to confer master's degree in Statistics (Master's degree in Economics), and now has research directions such as transportation and logistics statistics, securities investment analysis and financial statistics, application of statistical survey methods, and application of economic quantitative analysis methods.

Over the past 20 years, teachers of statistics have published more than 200 professional academic papers in statistical research, China Statistics, statistics and decision-making, China highway journal, Journal of transportation engineering, etc., and published the theories and methods of highway transportation statistics, road transportation statistics, sampling survey theory and technology application, Highway Engineering Statistics, logistics and supply chain system More than 10 professional books and teaching materials, presided over or participated in more than 80 scientific research projects at the level of National Natural Science Foundation, National Social Science Foundation, Ministry of education, Ministry of transportation and provincial, department and bureau level, and won 5 provincial and ministerial level academic awards. Among them, research on highway transportation statistical system and method won the third prize of science and technology progress award of Ministry of transport and national science and Technology Commission of the people's Republic of China The research team with the teachers and students of the Department of statistics as the core was awarded the title of advanced unit in the national highway and waterway transportation volume special survey of the Ministry of transport in 2008.
