At 3:00 p.m. on November 1, the first academic lecture was held in the lecture hall on the sixth floor of the school of economics and management. The academic lecture was presided over by Du Qiang, the dean of the college. The majority of teachers and students of the college listened to the lecture and more than 100 teachers and students participated online.

Professor Mao Baohua of Beijing Jiaotong University gave a keynote lecture on the impact of science and technology on transportation. Starting from the previous technological revolutions and their impact on traffic development, he emphatically analyzed the main features of the fourth technological revolution (industry 4.0), that is, the integration of various technologies, including additive manufacturing, Internet of things, artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, etc The intelligent revolution of the integration of new technologies. Some thoughts are put forward, such as the concept of sharing and additive manufacturing technology promoting the change of supply and demand mode and reducing the development scale of transportation system; the application of big data and information technology challenges human ethics and stimulates the conflict of social privacy protection; intellectualization improves traffic safety and transportation efficiency, or triggers human survival (Development) crisis. These thoughts put forward by Professor Mao have great inspiration for us to face the new situation, formulate the future development plan and rapid response strategies of various changes, and point out the direction for future research.

Professor Mao is the host of key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, editor in chief of transportation system engineering and information, a famous teacher in Beijing. He has been selected into the Ministry of education's new century excellent talent support program, Beijing Youth discipline leader, young science and technology top-notch talent of Ministry of Railways, and won Mao Yisheng Railway Science and technology award. He enjoys great influence in academic circles, especially in the field of transportation.

In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the University on April 18, 2021, the college will hold a series of special academic lectures and three international academic conferences.
